Featuring the iconic rain dance scene - with real rainfall!
The upbeat hit MGM movie that starred Debbie Reynolds and Gene Kelly is brought to glorious real life on the stage this season, in a production that will see you wanting to splash through every puddle you see on the way out! Featuring the iconic song, complete with an on-stage rainstorm (front-row seats will be provided with splash-proof gear) and plenty of farcical humor, you will fall in love with he songs, the dancing, and the two leads, Don and Kathy.
When an ailing movie studio reluctantly makes a foray into the new "talky" films, they face one problem; their beautiful but spoiled leading lady Lina Lamont has the voice of a constipated chipmunk.If her true voice is exposed on film, then they are all finished in the movie business.
In the meantime, leading man Don Lockwood has fallen in love with mysterious jobbing actress Kathy Seldon, who happens to possess a beautiful singing voice. With the help of his loyal, talented composer friend Cosmo, he pursues her relentlessly after a series of misunderstandings much to her chagrin, but just as she falls in love with him, the studio make an unfair demand of her in order to bolster the tyrannical and jealous Lina's career. Will Don and Kathy find happiness in the face of Lina's scheming?
