The Old Globe presents George Bernard Shaw's deliciously frothy romantic comedy that explores idealism and romance through Rania, a young woman who, whilst waiting for her visionary fiancee to return from the war, is surprised to make the acquaintance of a fugitive Swiss mercenary , Captain Bluntschli, and his jaded approach to the military...
But it doesn't take look for this chocolate-cream toting cynic to fall for Rania, and when her fiancee returns a changed man, Bluntschli knows he must make a move or risk happiness for ever. His sudden large inheritance doesn't hurt either.
