Transcending the North/South divide
A world premiere love story that transcends one of the most tense and guarded borders in the world comes to the Mandell Weiss Forum this fall. Penned by Hansol Jung and helmed by Tony-nominated director Leigh Silverman, this play follows a young North Korean defector, who escapes to the safety of the South, where she falls in love with a lonely 'goose' father, whose wife has taken his children abroad to study in the West.
What to expect
Starring Francis Jue and Yunjin Kim as the father and defector, respectively, they are supported by a mixed ethnicity cast that also includes Hawaii 5.0's James Kyson and DeLeon Dallas.
Amidst the hustle and bustle of urban Korea, the two lonely souls find each other over the internet, where they bond. Combining themes of modern aspirations and its betrayals, Wild Goose Dreams follows a quiet and tender online romance in stark contrast with the noise of a contemporary world.
