Why see Metric?
All the Feelings tour!
Get ready to relive the 00s as Metric launches an all-new tour this summer, joined by fellow indie greats Broken Social Scene and Stars!
Metric
Formed in 1998 in Toronto, Metric is one of the few indie-rock bands that can pull off a dance-influenced sound while still retaining their original fan base, but also one of the few bands whose line-up hasn't changed over the years. Originally formed as a duo with just Haines and guitarist James Shaw in 1998 under the name Mainstream (not quite as catchy we reckon), they expanded to include two additional band members in 2001.
Broken Social Scene
Indie heroes and arbiters of all that was noughties cool, the Canadian supergroup are back on the road. Made up of anything from 6 - 19 members, including Kevin Drew, Brendan Canning, and Ariel Engle, this special collective is known for their ethereal sound, youthful energy, and lyrical ambiance and has gone on to inspire a generation of indie groups since their formation in 1999.
Stars
Indie pop band Stars have been creating their signature sound since 1999, but it was their second studio album, Heart, which was critically acclaimed and helped them to become one of Canada's most successful bands. The Toronto natives are known for their storytelling lyrics and sometimes experimental production. The band is led by Torquil Campbell, a master of multiple instruments and an actor and playwright, and singer and guitarist Amy Millan.
