Why see The Full Monty?
Naked ambition
San Diego Musical Theatre kicks off their 11th season with this rarely performed nine-time Tony nominee. Adapted from the 1997 British comedy-drama with Robert Carlyle, this version from Terrance McNally and David Yazbeck moves the action from the UK's ailing mines to the rusting steelworks of Buffalo, where a group of plucky ex-workers prepare to reveal all!
Stuck waiting to cash their unemployment checks with no job prospects in sight, two ex-steelworkers, Jerry and Dave are struck with inspiration from an unlikely source; their own wives excitment at a local Chippendales engaement. Figuring they might be able to create their own, even racier version, they set about gathering a dance troupe with hilarious results. Warm, witty and full of heart and wonderful songs from Yazbeck, this undressing musical is a must see.
