who are biffy clyro?

First question is where does the name come from for this Scottish rock band.  No one really knows and there are a string of theories, none of which stand up to much scrutiny, but when you're starting in the music industry a strange name keeps the journalists and fans intrigued for ages.  Assembling in the late '90s, in the town of Kilmarnock, near Glasgow, Biffy Clyro comprises a three-piece lineup, fronted by vocalist and guitarist Simon Neil along with James Johnston (bass) and his twin brother drummer Ben Johnston.  

Now with eight Kerrang nominations, winning four, including 'Best Album' and 'Best British Band', Biffy Clyro have expanded their following significantly since debuting their full-length album 'Blackened Sky' back in 2002. Since then, they've had 10 studio albums and six EP's, and an epic reputation for their live performances.
