Why see Hurricane Diane?

A Funny And Modern Comedy From Madeleine George

A wild 90-minute storm, this Obie Award-winning play takes on the modern issue of climate change, and finds an unlikely solution in the mythological Greek God of wine, Dionysus. Dionysus decides to come to Earth disguised as Butch gardener Diane to gain human followers and restore the planet to its natural and safe state. But how does she begin such an achievement? With four real housewives from New Jersey.

Hurricane Diane comes from the pen of playwright Madeleine George who was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize for Drama in 2014 and received the Whiting Award for Drama in 2016, George also is a writer and executive story editor for Hulu comedy series Only Murders in the Building. The play is directed by Zo Golub-Sass, Associate Artistic Director at Hartford Stage.

Further casting and creatives for Hurricane Diane at The Hartford Stage are yet to be announced.
