Home to San Diego's premier theater company, The Old Globe is a complex of three different venues, with The Old Globe Theater, modelled after Shakespeare's original playhouse in London, being the flagship site. As their name suggests, this company specialise in Shakespearean works, but have also originated many Tony Award winning Broadway shows.

With its huge fibreglass 'sails', designed to invoke the city's martime past, this convention center is one of San Diego's most famous structures. It plays hosts to massive events all year round, everything from national political conventions to world expos, and of course, the world famous San Diego Comic-Con. It was designed by Canadian architect Arthur Erikson.
