We caught the first performance last night and, wow! I can see this going to Broadway. There are enough nods to DDLJ to satisfy fans. This production succeeds in updating the source material while sticking to the original outline. The songs were good esp. Holi Hai & Party and Spend. The entire cast serves a wonderful show. There were tears at points where I was sitting-the emotional resonance is there just like in a Bollywood production. A great first show!

ALL THE DDLJ HAD TO OFFER AND MORE
Awesome job by the cast and the crew performing a live action of the classic and incorporating Indian American culture while not losing the essence of the story. Definitely would see it again!!

COME FALL IN LOVE DDLJ
DDLJ musical was so much fun 🤩 Directed by the director of the original movie. Movie adaptation but original songs and dance .
I was doubtful abut White SRK ? But he was very impressive in song dance acting so as simran from Boston . Everyone was too good in acting. Kuljeet and even mom of Raj was too good . Good writing and stage design. I can watch it again . ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

EXCEEDS EXPECTATIONS
This is a Broadway level musical, the first of its kind to bring Bollywood to Broadway. The musical is a wonderful Broadway adaptation of an iconic Bollywood classic. Same plot but modernized for the 2020s with the right adaption of the storyline, setting, and characters. Vishal D’s fresh musical score, AC’s theatric vision, the Broadway level talent of all characters, and foot stomping choreography exceed all expectations. I’m so glad I got to experience this event.

FANTASTIC SHOW!
We saw DDLJ last night at the Old Globe. The show was fun, energetic, colorful with a wonderful cast. Take your whole family. Excellent for all ages. I highly recommend seeing this show in San Diego before it heads off to Broadway.

WHY CARE ABOUT A MUSICAL WITH CARTOON CHARACTERS & BAD SONGS?
Had such high hopes for this show, but more than disappointing. Sets, lighting and costumes are the best thing in the show. The characters are all cartoons except for the female lead, her father & mother, only later the male lead, but why care about characters who are so 'unreal'? If you're writing a musical, why can't the songs have good melodies? Good lyrics? A few lyrics were downright embarrassing and I can't remember one song which carried me away. We love Bollywood, but not enough Indian culture in the piece. This ones needs lots and lots of work, but after seeing tonight's audience on its feet at the end, not sure it will get the work it desperately needs.

HOW?????
Terrible direction and casting.
Aditya Chopra had made only 1 good thing under his father and he is out there to destroy it too.
Damn, its truly bad. The hero is treated like an American savior. He is so disconnected from everyone there.
I love the music but not better than DDLJ. Thank you Yash raj films for destroying DDLJ
